RUNTEQ Launches New Java Curriculum to Further Expand the Skills of Current Students and Graduates

RUNTEQ Inc. (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President and CTO: Hisatoshi Kikumoto) will begin offering a new Java curriculum as part of its extended curriculum service "RUNTEQ Advance" for current students and graduates.

This curriculum is structured to provide systematic learning from the basics of Java to web application development using Spring Boot. It responds to cases where Java is adopted at employment destinations and the growing need to acquire multiple languages, supporting the acquisition of practical skills.

■ List of Offered Curriculums

It is structured so that students can learn in stages, from basic Java grammar to web application development using the "Spring Boot" framework, which is widely used in practice.

Basic courses such as "Introduction/Basics of Java" and "Introduction/Basics of Spring Boot" have already been launched, and advanced areas are scheduled for release in April 2026.

■ About the Optional Curriculum "RUNTEQ Advance"

"RUNTEQ Advance" is an optional advanced curriculum that current RUNTEQ students and graduates can choose according to their interests and career goals.

We currently offer courses in a wide range of areas directly linked to practical work and career development, such as PHP/Laravel, React, Next.js, Computer Science, and Project Management.

And now, we have newly added a Java curriculum. This enables flexible utilization tailored to more practical and medium-to-long-term career formation, such as complementing learning during enrollment, skill catch-up after employment or job changes, responding to technologies required at work, and challenging new languages.

Furthermore, by providing an environment where learning can continue even after graduation, it also functions as a mechanism to ensure uninterrupted growth as an engineer.

■ Background: Curriculum Expansion to Meet the Needs of Graduates

Until now, RUNTEQ has offered the "Web Development Standard Course" centered on Ruby on Rails, and the "Python x AI Course" handling Python.

In recent years, we have received many voices from students and graduates saying, "The development language at my new job is Java," or "I want to try languages other than Ruby." To bridge this gap with practical work and respond to diverse learning needs, in addition to advanced curricula such as PHP provided so far, we have started offering a new Java curriculum.

Additionally, Java is a development language adopted in a wide range of areas in Japan, such as enterprise, financial, and public systems, making it one of the highly valuable languages to learn for increasing one's market value as a web engineer.

"Skill Metrix," a skill evaluation service provided by RUNTEQ, currently quantitatively measures engineer skills in a test format in areas such as Ruby, Web Basics, and SQL, visualizing proficiency and issues.

Based on the test results, users can not only grasp their own strengths and weaknesses but also clarify the learning content they should tackle next, enabling them to proceed with skill improvement efficiently.

In the future, in line with the expansion of the Java curriculum, we will also proceed with Java support for Skill Metrix, establishing an environment where the cycle of "Learning → Evaluation → Improvement" can be consistently provided for Java learning as well.
