Japan's Largest Cat Show "TOKYO CAT COLLECTION" Featuring Two Leading International Cat Organizations to be Held for the First Time on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at Tokyo Big Sight

Royal Canin Japon (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Shinichi Kusakabe; hereinafter, Royal Canin), a company dedicated to achieving dog and cat health through nutrition (Health Through Nutrition Company) and offering premium pet food and therapeutic diets, will be a special sponsor of the inaugural cat show "TOKYO CAT COLLECTION" (organized by the TOKYO CAT COLLECTION Executive Committee) to be held on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at Tokyo Big Sight (Koto-ku, Tokyo).

"TOKYO CAT COLLECTION" is Japan's largest cat event, where cat shows from two leading international cat organizations, "The Cat Fancier’s Association" (hereinafter, CFA) and "The International Cat Association" (hereinafter, TICA), can be seen at the same venue.

The first-ever "TOKYO CAT COLLECTION" will not only feature judging of healthy and beautiful show cats but also offer various activities to promote a healthy and happy life with cats. These include valuable tours into the paddock where show cats await, and a "Cat Care Seminar Taught by Breeders" where participants can learn directly from participating breeders. Additionally, there will be a quiz rally, a shop corner, and other diverse events. This unprecedented event allows cat owners, breeders, and all cat lovers to interact.

■ A Festival of Cats That Have Mastered True Health, Not Just Appearance (Cat Show)

At this event, over 200 show cats will gather, and cat shows by the two international organizations, CFA and TICA, will proceed simultaneously in their respective areas. Expert judges will evaluate each cat based on criteria such as "body (skeleton, muscles, tail length, etc.)," "coat (length, texture, color, and pattern of the cat's breed coat, etc.)," and "head (profile, ear size and position, eye color and shape, jaw development, etc.)." Cats selected in each division will advance to the final judging, and those splendidly chosen for the final will be awarded a large ribbon called a rosette.

Founded in the United States in 1979, it is one of the world's largest organizations, serving as the largest genetic registry for purebred and domestic cats and an official cat show sanctioning body. Members are encouraged to cooperate and work towards preserving the lineage of purebred cats and promoting the health and welfare of all domestic cats.
