The Roppongi Art Night Executive Committee has decided to hold "Roppongi Art Night 2026," an art festival set in the city of Roppongi, from Saturday, October 31 to Sunday, November 1, 2026.

This year, the all-night event, where you can enjoy art from dusk till dawn, will finally return after a three-year hiatus. Rediscover the energy of the urban night and fully enjoy the ultimate extraordinary experience that can only be found on this night, in this place, such as late-night art tours and performances.

Past "Roppongi Art Night" event scenes

Launched in 2009, "Roppongi Art Night" is a large-scale cultural event set in the city of Roppongi, where art museums and other cultural facilities, large-scale commercial complexes, and shopping streets are concentrated. By scattering diverse works of contemporary art, design, music, video, and performance throughout the city, it creates an extraordinary experience, proposing a lifestyle that enjoys art. As a leading art festival in Tokyo, it continues to create new urban value.

The highlight program for this 15th edition* is "RAN Focus," which spotlights art from a specific country or region and showcases works by artists active there. This time, it will focus on France, the home of "Nuit Blanche," which served as the model for "Roppongi Art Night," enlivening the sleepless city of Roppongi.

Don't miss this art feast where Roppongi transforms for one night only!

*Cancelled in 2011 due to the Great East Japan Earthquake, and in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition, the "Open Call Project," a public art submission program implemented since 2015, will be held again this year, and applications are currently being accepted. This project is open to anyone, and 101 works have been exhibited over 11 years until 2025. We sincerely look forward to receiving applications for works that will become a part of "Roppongi Art Night" and further enhance the charm of the city of Roppongi.

"Roppongi Art Night," where you can experience various arts such as contemporary art, performance, and design from dusk till dawn, began in 2009, modeled after Paris's "Nuit Blanche." Following the birth of Roppongi Hills and Mori Art Museum in 2003, The National Art Center, Tokyo, Suntory Museum of Art, and Tokyo Midtown all opened in 2007, making Roppongi a new art hub. This event, which has continued to promote Roppongi's value as a city of art and culture in conjunction with the Roppongi Shopping Street that connects the region and the surrounding art galleries, celebrates its 15th major milestone this year.

Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, we have been exploring various operating models and have not held the event overnight for the past few years. However, this year, in response to your strong requests, the "all-night" event will finally return. Encounter art in the darkness and greet the dawn together. Please enjoy this intense, extraordinary experience for one night only, returning to its original form.

This year's "RAN Focus" will follow Taiwan in 2024 and Korea in 2025, focusing on France, the home of "Nuit Blanche." In co-production with the Parisian cultural center "CENTQUATRE-PARIS," and with José-Manuel Gonçalvès (former Artistic Director of CENTQUATRE-PARIS) as the guest curator for the Focus, you can experience numerous spirited works including installations, video works, and performances. Furthermore, a wide array of art from Japan, Taiwan, and various other countries and regions will gather again this year. Please look forward to this creative collaboration that transcends borders and genres.

"Roppongi Art Night" is the best time to enjoy art all night long in the heart of the great city of Tokyo, a once-a-year "Festival of City, Art, and Future." Let's imagine together what kind of future we can see from it.
