The Roppongi Art Night Executive Committee has decided to hold "Roppongi Art Night 2026," an art festival set in the town of Roppongi, from Saturday, October 31 to Sunday, November 1, 2026.

This year, the all-night event, where you can enjoy art from sunset to sunrise, will finally make its return for the first time in three years. You can rediscover the energy of the city at night and fully enjoy the ultimate extraordinary experience, available only on this night and in this place, with late-night art tours and performances.

Scenery from a past "Roppongi Art Night" event

Roppongi Art Night, which started in 2009, is a large-scale cultural event set in the town of Roppongi, an area where cultural facilities including museums, large commercial complexes, and shopping streets are concentrated. By scattering diverse works such as contemporary art, design, music, video, and performances throughout the city and creating an extraordinary experience, it proposes a lifestyle that enjoys art. As one of Tokyo's leading art festivals, it continues to create new value for the city.

This year's featured program, marking its 15th occurrence*, is "RAN Focus," which focuses on a specific country or region and showcases works by artists active there. This time, we focus on France, the home of "Nuit Blanche" (White Night Festival), which served as the model for Roppongi Art Night, to energize the sleepless city of Roppongi.

Don't miss this art feast where Roppongi transforms for one night only!

*Cancelled in 2011 due to the Great East Japan Earthquake, and in 2020/2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Furthermore, the "Open Call Project," a project for soliciting artworks that has been held annually since 2015, will be held again this year, and applications are currently being accepted. This project is open to anyone, and 101 works have been exhibited over the 11 years up to 2025. We sincerely look forward to receiving applications for works that will become part of Roppongi Art Night and further illuminate the charm of Roppongi.

Roppongi Art Night, where you can experience various arts including contemporary art, performances, and design from sunset to sunrise, began in 2009, modeled after Paris's "Nuit Blanche" (White Night Festival). Following the establishment of Roppongi Hills and the Mori Art Museum in 2003, and the opening of The National Art Center, Tokyo, the Suntory Museum of Art, and Tokyo Midtown in 2007, Roppongi became a new art hub. This event, which has continued to promote Roppongi's value as a city of art and culture, along with the Roppongi Shopping Street connecting the community and the surrounding art galleries, reaches a significant milestone this year, its 15th occurrence.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic began in 2020, we have been exploring various operational models, and while we have not held midnight events in recent years, this year, in response to your strong requests, the "all-night" event will finally be revived. Encountering art in the darkness and welcoming the dawn together. Please enjoy this immersive, extraordinary experience, unique to one night, as we return to our original form.

For this year's "RAN Focus," following Taiwan in 2024 and South Korea in 2025, we focus on France, the home of the "Nuit Blanche" (White Night Festival). In collaboration with Paris's cultural center "CENTQUATRE-PARIS," we welcome José-Manuel Gonçalves (Former Artistic Director of CENTQUATRE-PARIS) as the guest curator for Focus. You will be able to experience numerous witty works, including installations, video art, and performances. Furthermore, art from Japan, Taiwan, and various other countries and regions will gather this year. Please look forward to a collaboration of creativity that resonates across borders and genres.

Roppongi Art Night is the ultimate time to enjoy art all night long in the heart of a great metropolis like Tokyo, an annual "Festival of City, Art, and Future." Let's imagine together what kind of future we can see from it.
