Roland DG Accelerates Initiatives in the Industrial Market, Unveiling New Direct-to-Object Printing Solutions Including Reference Exhibits

Roland DG Corporation, a global leader in digital printing solutions, will exhibit new Direct-to-Object (DTO) printing solutions, including three reference products shown for the first time, at the FESPA Global Print Expo 2026 (hereafter FESPA 2026), which will be held in Barcelona, Spain starting May 19, 2026. Taking this exhibition as a starting point, the company plans to further strengthen its activities aimed at the Industrial market.

Ryugo Fimura, General Manager of the Global Sales & Marketing Division, discussed the market background: "Driven by the diversification and individualization of consumer needs, manufacturing sites in recent years have been shifting from traditional mass production to high-mix, low-volume production. Product panels and housing decorations are typically handled using screen printing or pad printing. However, while these methods show great superiority in mass printing, challenges such as costs and effort for plate making and setup, prolonged lead times, difficulties in accommodating flexible specification changes, and restrictions on multi-color or full-color printing have become apparent in high-mix, low-volume printing. Expectations for DTO printing are rising year by year as the optimal solution for these challenges faced by the Industrial market."

DTO printing is a method that allows direct printing onto diverse materials. Its major feature is that it does not require "plates" like screen printing or pad printing, enabling on-demand, full-color printing of exactly the required quantity exactly when needed.

Since 2011, the company has proposed numerous DTO-related products equipped with UV inks. To meet the recent changes in market needs, they have focused on developing solutions that combine long-cultivated know-how with cutting-edge technology.

As part of these results, three products—the EUV-H ink with high coating film characteristics, the IO-300 UV flatbed printer, and the RC-300 series of cylindrical printers—are being unveiled prior to their official announcement. Including the new 360-degree direct printer LSINC Peri series announced in January 2026, Roland DG will strengthen its proposals as new digital printing solutions for companies engaged in industrial printing and decoration departments of manufacturers.

(1) EUV-H Ink with Excellent High Coating Film Characteristics [Reference Exhibit / Scheduled for Announcement in Late June 2026]
This ink boasts superior scratch resistance, weather resistance, and solvent resistance compared to the company's previous UV inks. In addition to CMYK inks for full-color printing, it includes white ink necessary for white text or undercoating on dark materials, gloss ink for special expressions like textures and thick printing, and primer ink to improve printability on hard-to-adhere materials. It enables direct printing* on a wide range of materials, including polycarbonate, ABS, acrylic, PVC, glass, aluminum, stainless steel, and wood.
*Since surface conditions and characteristics vary depending on the material used, a prior printing test is required.

(2) IO-300 Flatbed UV Printer [Reference Exhibit / Scheduled for Announcement in September 2026]
Equipped with a newly developed high-definition printhead and ink discharge control technology, it achieves highly accurate, sharp expressions and a high productivity of 3.2m2/h. Adopting a highly rigid body and a ball screw table drive system, it excels in industrial applications requiring precise alignment. It has a work area equivalent to B2 size and supports printing on 3D objects up to 204mm thick. Customers can choose between two types of ink to suit their applications: EUV-H ink and EUV-A ink, which is ideal for printing on soft materials like leather and rubber.

(3) RC-300 Series Cylindrical Printer [Reference Exhibit / Scheduled for Announcement in Fall 2026]
A printer capable of direct printing on cylindrical and conical objects such as water bottles, tumblers, and beverage or cosmetic bottles and cans. It uses EUV-H ink. Objects with a length of 30mm to 355mm and a diameter of 45mm to 127mm can be attached, with a printable range of 30mm to 300mm. It is being developed to finish items 200mm in length and 100mm in diameter in approximately 1 minute (when printing White + CMYK simultaneously). Ideal for high-mix, low-volume applications such as limited-edition or customized products. The lineup also includes models capable of printing on transparent glass bottles.

(4) LSINC 360-Degree Direct Printer [New Product]
A printer capable of direct printing on cylindrical and conical objects such as water bottles, tumblers, and beverage or cosmetic bottles and cans. Its major feature is superior productivity compared to the RC-300 series. It can print on four objects simultaneously.
