Summary ROHM Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kyoto) has developed the 'RESDxVx series' of ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) protection diodes that achieve both industry-leading low dynamic resistance (Rdyn) and ultra-low capacitance. These diodes are suitable for a wide range of applications utilizing high-speed data communication. For high-speed communication interfaces exceeding 10Gbps, ESD protection diodes are required to provide high IC protection performance while minimizing signal degradation. The new products achieve ultra-low terminal capacitance of 0.24pF (bidirectional) and 0.48pF (unidirectional). Furthermore, they reduce dynamic resistance—which is typically in a trade-off relationship—to 0.28Ω. Compared to general-purpose products, the clamping voltage is suppressed by approximately 40%, ensuring superior IC protection performance. These diodes contribute to improving the reliability of various devices using high-speed data communication, including industrial equipment such as AI servers and 5G/6G communication devices, as well as consumer electronics like laptops and gaming consoles. Additionally, the 'RESDxVxBASAFH' and 'RESDxVxBASAFH' (automotive grade) utilizing the DFN1006-2W package are available.
