Inbound Guests Rave: 'Kitpas' Live Drawing Event 'Ranman' at Tokyo Bay Shiomi Prince Hotel

Nihon Rikagaku Industry Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kawasaki, Kanagawa; President: Takahisa Oyama), a manufacturer of 'Dustless Chalk' with a 70% domestic market share since 1937, held a 'Kitpas Window Art' event featuring artist Masae Matsunaga at the Tokyo Bay Shiomi Prince Hotel (Koto-ku, Tokyo) on March 14th and 15th, 2026. This project is a co-creative promotion that transforms hotel windows into dynamic canvases using 'Kitpas,' an art material made from rice wax that draws vividly on smooth surfaces like glass and mirrors and can be wiped off with water. This event was particularly notable for the enthusiastic support from international guests and high praise for the product's safety and quality. The window art is scheduled to be on display until early April. The project, titled 'Ranman' (Full Bloom), is the fourth installment of the Kitpas Window Art series at the hotel, which began in 2025. The theme was 'Edo x TOKYO Spring,' featuring a dynamic and delicate expression of Mt. Fuji and cherry blossoms. Artist Masae Matsunaga commented, 'I drew with cherry blossoms and Edo designs inspired by Ukiyo-e so that international guests could feel the beautiful Japanese spring. The vivid colors of Kitpas go well with Japanese-style gradients, and guests were surprised by the color usage.' The event successfully enhanced inbound satisfaction, appealed to families, and generated social media buzz through the live creation process.
