Ricoh Japan Co., Ltd. (President and CEO: Toru Kasai) will strengthen its one-stop provision system to contribute to the realization of DX in the medical and nursing care fields, against the backdrop of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare's "National Medical Information Platform Concept" and "Reiwa Vision 2030."
Specifically for medical DX, we will expand our lineup of products and services, including sales and maintenance support for the successor product to the "Facial Recognition Card Reader Caora," dedicated terminals, IT infrastructure, and services to improve operational efficiency.
The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare has set forth the "National Medical Information Platform Concept" and "Reiwa Vision 2030," and is promoting measures such as the expansion of the online eligibility verification system, electronic prescriptions, and standardization of electronic medical records. These initiatives are not limited to the medical field but are also extending to the nursing care field through the development of a "Nursing Care Information Infrastructure," leading to information linkage between medical and nursing care (medical-welfare collaboration).
However, medical and nursing care sites face challenges such as a shortage of dedicated IT personnel and the increasing sophistication of security measures, which are barriers to achieving DX.
In response to this situation, Ricoh Japan will accelerate its contribution to local communities by expanding its lineup of services that support DX in medical and nursing care settings.
Specifically, Ricoh Japan will begin sales and maintenance support for "Caora2," the successor product to the "Facial Recognition Card Reader Caora" provided by group company PFU Limited, starting in October 2026. In addition, we will also sell dedicated terminals developed by Ricoh PFU Computing Co., Ltd., another group company.
Ricoh Japan has provided installation and maintenance for dedicated terminals since the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare launched the "Online Eligibility Verification System" (hereinafter referred to as "On-shi") in 2021. With this lineup expansion, we will further leverage group synergies and strengthen our system for providing "terminals, implementation, and maintenance" required for On-shi in a one-stop manner.
Furthermore, through collaboration with partner companies responsible for electronic medical record systems and departmental systems, we will add "Ricoh Healthcare IT Infrastructure Service" to our lineup, which provides installation and maintenance when implementing electronic medical record systems, contributing to the environment for promoting the widespread adoption of electronic medical records.
In addition, we will accelerate our contribution to DX in medical institutions by systematizing the knowledge gained from co-creation cases accumulated through reducing operational load with the "Ricoh On-Premise LLM Starter Kit," selecting ICT tools through a process of visualizing hospital operations, and improving internal hospital operations with RPA, utilizing the know-how cultivated from our customer base of approximately 1 million businesses nationwide.
In addition, the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare is working to improve productivity for related organizations such as municipalities (insurers), nursing care providers, and medical institutions by developing various nursing care-related information, including long-term care insurance information, through the "Nursing Care Information Infrastructure" in the nursing care field, not just in medical care. Ricoh Japan provides services to support such nursing care providers in "launching the Nursing Care Information Infrastructure."
Ricoh Japan will continue to provide products, support, and services that leverage the power of the group.
