On March 25, 2026, Asubashi (Nagoya, Aichi; Representative Director: Yoshitaka Menjo), a group of experts in career education coordination connecting schools and communities, and Aichi Prefectural Nakagawa Seiwa High School (Nagoya, Aichi; Principal: Osamu Nakayasu) signed a partnership agreement to lead high school education reform. The two parties have been collaborating since the 2023 academic year, coinciding with the launch of the prefecture's first 'Full-time Credit-based Career Business Course.' With this agreement, they will further strengthen the development and operation of a new educational framework that contributes to solving social issues faced by both schools and local businesses.

Background

With the 'free high school tuition' policy scheduled to begin in the 2026 academic year, the preference for private high schools is rising in Aichi Prefecture. Particularly for local public and vocational high schools (industrial, commercial, etc.), there is a pressing need to enhance their appeal as they face declining enrollment despite high expectations from the industrial sector. Since the 2020 academic year, Asubashi has been operating the 'Career Support Network (CSN)' to connect the industrial sector with schools. By sharing this expertise with Nakagawa Seiwa High School, which aims to lead educational reform, they are taking on the challenge of solving this social issue.

Initiative Details

Based on this agreement, the parties will jointly plan and operate a three-year continuous 'cross-boundary experiential program' to support student career development.

1st Year: Internship Program
Provides all students with early opportunities to experience the workplace.

2nd Year: Corporate Collaboration Program
Deepens self-exploration through seminars taught by local professionals.

3rd Year: Apprenticeship Program (*)
Realizes practical learning where students can earn a salary while working and earn academic credits simultaneously.

*Apprenticeship: While traditionally meaning an 'indenture system,' modern apprenticeships are systems that allow individuals to 'balance working and learning' by earning an income in an actual workplace while simultaneously acquiring knowledge, skills, and pursuing career development.
