We hereby announce that our company has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) today with abc Inc., Image One Co., Ltd., Wintest Co., Ltd., and FD Co., Ltd. for the establishment of a joint venture (hereinafter referred to as "the Joint Venture") aimed at developing and operating AI data centers, as detailed below.
1. Background and History
In recent years, with the rapid spread of generative AI, the demand for high-performance computing resources and the data centers that house them has structurally expanded.
Amidst this, GPU servers introduced in AI data centers are expected to undergo renewal and replacement after a certain period of operation, and a secondary market is anticipated to form in the future.
Our company has been working to expand the secondary distribution market accompanying the renewal and replacement of IT equipment through our reuse business. We believe it is crucial to leverage this expertise to address the anticipated secondary market for GPU servers.
Based on this understanding, our company has positioned entry into the AI infrastructure domain as part of our mid-to-long-term growth strategy and has been considering expansion into AI-related infrastructure businesses, primarily focusing on GPU servers.
Furthermore, as disclosed in our PR announcement dated February 26, 2026, "Announcement Regarding the Establishment of an AI Strategy Office and Entry into the AI Infrastructure Business," our company has decided to enter the AI infrastructure business, and this initiative is a concrete effort based on that strategy.
In this context, we have been exploring collaborations utilizing each company's technologies and networks. We have now reached an agreement on the basic framework for promoting the AI data center business, and we will transition this project to a concrete examination phase.
2. Overview of this Basic Agreement and Business Scheme
Through the establishment of this Joint Venture, we envision that each company will collaborate to promote the planning, development, construction, and maintenance and operation of AI-specialized high-performance data centers.
Additionally, we will integrate the resources necessary for business promotion by leveraging each company's technologies, networks, and fundraising capabilities.
This project is an initiative that anticipates the potential for a business involving a certain scale of investment in the mid-to-long term, against the backdrop of expanding domestic demand for AI infrastructure.
Regarding the establishment of the Joint Venture, we will proceed with discussions towards the establishment of a joint venture tentatively named "AI Data Partners" around May 2026.
Furthermore, in this project, to achieve agile fundraising and efficient asset management, we plan to adopt a scheme where "Business SPCs (Special Purpose Companies)" are established for each project under the Joint Venture.
3. Our Company's Position
Our company will contribute to the establishment and stable operation of the AI data center business through investment in and involvement in the operation of this Joint Venture.
In this business, we envision a business development that integrates tenant acquisition, sales, operation, and reuse. Our company will be involved in this process, including cultivating GPU server utilization needs through partner channels and supporting tenant attraction.
Furthermore, GPU servers introduced in AI data centers are expected to undergo renewal and replacement after a certain period of operation, and a secondary market is anticipated to form and expand in the future.
Leveraging the data and commercial channels cultivated in our reuse business, our company plans to proactively engage in the anticipated active secondary market for used GPU servers by promoting the reuse and resale of GPU server units and components, and by building domestic and international sales networks.
Through this, we aim to expand the areas of our involvement across the entire lifecycle of equipment, from introduction and operation to renewal, replacement, and re-circulation within the data center business, and to establish a certain position in the future secondary distribution market.
Moreover, we will undertake initiatives that consider the entire lifecycle, including the sale, reuse, and dismantling of server equipment, and contribute to resource circulation and the creation of environmental value (GX) through reuse and recycling.
