REXEV Inc. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Ken Watanabe; hereinafter 'REXEV'), in collaboration with Machi Mirai Seisakusho Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Yokohama, Kanagawa; Representative Director: Hideaki Aoyama; hereinafter 'Machi Mirai Seisakusho'), announces the launch of 'REXEV e.CYCLE' to provide comprehensive support for power generators certified under the FIT system, from conversion to the FIP system to the installation and aggregation operation of storage batteries.

This initiative will achieve an overwhelming increase in electricity sales revenue of 'up to FIT price + 1.6 yen/kWh' in the FIP conversion in FY2026, and will also participate in 'e.CYCLE' operated by Machi Mirai Seisakusho, which returns a portion of electricity sales revenue to the local governments where power plants are located. Through this collaboration, we will provide a solution that creates both economic and social benefits.

*1 FIT (Feed-in Tariff): A system where electricity generated from renewable energy is purchased by power companies at a fixed price set by the government for a certain period. *2 FIP (Feed-in Premium): A system where, when selling electricity on the market, the difference between a predetermined 'reference price' and the 'market price' is added as a premium (subsidy amount). *3 FIP purchase is also possible for low-voltage commercial power plants of 10kW to under 50kW, but purchase conditions may differ for low-voltage power plants; please inquire for details.

Background

In recent years, with the spread of renewable energy under the FIT system, output control of renewable energy nationwide has increased. This has led to a decrease in income for FIT power generators, making 'conversion to the FIP system' a key to improving profitability, in anticipation of changes to priority dispatch rules.

Overview of 'REXEV e.CYCLE'

'Economic benefits': Maximum FIT price + 1.6 yen/kWh in FY2026

REXEV's role

As a new business, REXEV has started a consulting service to support power generators in the complex procedures related to FIP conversion.

Furthermore, after FIP conversion, we will introduce storage batteries to solar power plants and operate as an aggregator. By charging during low electricity price hours and discharging during high market price hours, as well as participating in the balancing market, we aim to maximize the profitability of the FIP power plant combined storage battery business.

Machi Mirai Seisakusho's role

By leveraging its advanced portfolio management and trading expertise, Machi Mirai Seisakusho addresses the barriers to FIP conversion such as 'daily power generation planning' and 'imbalance risk' arising from deviations from planned values, enabling power generators to operate with zero risk and the same peace of mind as under FIT.

Through the partnership of the two companies, power plants converting to FIP in FY2026 will achieve a high purchase price of 'FIT price + 1.6 yen/kWh', providing overwhelming economic benefits.

Social benefits contributing to regional revitalization: Participation in 'e.CYCLE'

This project will be implemented as part of 'e.CYCLE', a regionally symbiotic renewable energy distribution platform operated by Machi Mirai Seisakusho.

As a result, a portion of the electricity trading revenue through 'e.CYCLE' will be returned to the local governments where power plants are located as 'regional revitalization funds'. By using this scheme, power generators can directly contribute to solving issues in the areas surrounding the power plants and regional development without additional burden, creating social benefits from the perspective of SDGs and CSR.

Future Outlook

This project will contribute to the stabilization of the entire power system by providing supply-demand adjustment functions using storage batteries and operation that is conscious of market prices through FIP transition.

REXEV will lead the realization of a sustainable and prosperous regionally symbiotic society by maximizing the business profits of power generators and circulating the value generated by renewable energy back to the regions.
