Retrieva Joins the "University of Tokyo x Venture Company Industry-Academia Collaboration AI Research Forum"

Retrieva Inc. (Headquarters: Toshima-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Takuya Taguchi; hereinafter "Retrieva"), which supports the realization of Agentic AI within organizations, is pleased to announce its participation in the "University of Tokyo x Venture Company Industry-Academia Collaboration AI Research Forum," an initiative organized by the Graduate School of Information Science and Technology at the University of Tokyo.

This forum is an industry-academia collaboration community that pursues the forefront of AI research and practical application through collaboration between universities and companies. Retrieva will contribute to the societal implementation of AI technology by leveraging its technical expertise and implementation experience cultivated in the fields of natural language processing, search, and generative AI.

Background of Participation

With the evolution of generative AI and AI agents, companies' use of AI is moving beyond the "trial" phase towards solving actual business challenges. This requires the ability to understand cutting-edge research findings, shape them according to on-site issues, and continuously improve them.

To enhance Japan's international competitiveness in the AI domain, it is crucial to connect the advanced research held by universities with the implementation capabilities of companies. By delivering research results to society and linking challenges in the corporate field to the next research themes, we can foster AI technologies and use cases originating from Japan.

Retrieva has been engaged in research and development of its proprietary Large Language Models (LLMs), BERT, and Embedding models, with natural language processing and search as its core technologies, while also supporting information utilization, inquiry response, knowledge management, and generative AI adoption within companies. In particular, we have strengths in improving and optimizing language models and implementing AI utilization that leverages corporate data.

Through its participation in this forum, Retrieva aims to contribute to the creation of AI technologies and practical application cases originating from Japan by connecting the advanced research of universities, the implementation capabilities of participating companies, and the expertise in natural language processing that Retrieva has cultivated.

Future Initiatives

Through its participation in this forum, Retrieva will contribute by exploring research themes rooted in practical business challenges and participating in demonstration opportunities in areas such as generative AI, natural language processing, RAG, and AI agents.

Furthermore, by leveraging our knowledge in quality evaluation, operational design, and improvement cycles, we aim to create AI use cases originating from Japan by connecting research results to AI that can be continuously used in corporate environments.
