Sanctuary Court Takayama (Location: 1-124-1 Kamioka Honmachi, Takayama City, Gifu Prefecture / General Manager: Hisaki Takeuchi), an unprecedented art gallery resort that combines a hotel and a museum, will begin offering afternoon tea at its Italian restaurant RISTORANTE OZIO from Monday, May 18, 2026.

Sanctuary Court Takayama creates an extraordinary space, as if staying in an art gallery, by arranging art crafts throughout the facility. The Hida Takayama Museum of Art, annexed to the hotel, houses and exhibits masterpieces from the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods, inherited from the former Hida Takayama Museum of Art which received three Michelin stars for seven consecutive terms. The afternoon tea, now being offered, is based on the concept of an "Eating Museum." Approximately 15 types of sweets and savories, crafted like art pieces, are arranged on a tea stand modeled after René Lalique's "Champs-Élysées Shopping Arcade Fountain," displayed in the lobby. This visually expresses the worldview of the museum in a three-dimensional way.

Additionally, plans that include admission tickets to the Hida Takayama Museum of Art are available. By experiencing the masterpieces of Art Nouveau and Art Deco, and then enjoying an afternoon tea that reflects that world, you can more deeply appreciate the charm of the "Eating Museum."
