The Hida Takayama Museum of Art (Location: 1-124-1 Kamiokamoto-cho, Takayama City, Gifu Prefecture, within Sanctuary Court Takayama / Director: Kiminori Mukai), which offers a new artistic experience woven from light, sound, and scent, will begin selling "Entrance Tickets with Original Aroma Oil" from Wednesday, April 8, 2026, as a new initiative to connect the lingering impression of the viewing experience to daily life.

This entrance ticket is a special offer that includes an original aroma oil linked to the museum's viewing experience, allowing visitors to take home the impression of the time spent within the museum as a "scent." This is a new endeavor that extends the spatial experience, where light, sound, and scent merge, which the museum has proposed, into the time after viewing.

Scent can evoke scenes and emotions at unexpected moments, quietly reviving the tranquility, the play of light, and the time spent facing artworks within daily life. This original aroma oil was developed inspired by the perfume bottle "Leurs Âmes" by Rene Lalique, one of the museum's collection pieces. Created in 1913 for D'Orsay by Lalique, this perfume bottle, featuring two nude figures bound by a floral garland symbolizing the union of love and soul, is a masterpiece that sublimates the world of fragrance into glass. It is an extremely valuable piece as the only existing complete original set. The original blend, recreated for the modern era to approximate the scent from about 100 years ago, allows you to experience the time and aura contained within the artwork as a scent.

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of Art Deco in 2025, "Art Deco 100th Anniversary Exhibition Rene Lalique ~Brilliance and Fragrance~" is being held in Exhibition Room 3 until Sunday, July 26, 2026. This exhibition features a number of perfume bottles symbolic of the Art Deco period, including "Leurs Âmes." By recalling the scent within the space with the artwork itself, and further taking that lingering impression home, the viewing experience extends from within the museum into daily life.
