## Japan's First Indoor "Obstacle" Course Certified by Japan Modern Pentathlon Association to be Used Challenge OCR70m, a Discipline of Modern Pentathlon

Modern pentathlon has decided to adopt "Obstacle," a new discipline involving overcoming obstacles, in addition to the four existing disciplines: fencing, swimming, and laser run (running and shooting). Resol no Mori, which was designated as a "National Training Center Competition-Specific Reinforcement Base" in April 2023, established Japan's first "Obstacle" modern pentathlon course within MTC in January 2025. This course, which has attracted attention as a new discipline in modern pentathlon, is Japan's first indoor "Obstacle" course certified by the Japan Modern Pentathlon Association (*), allowing use regardless of weather conditions, and serves as a training base for top athletes from Japan and abroad.

* According to our own research (as Japan's first "Obstacle" course certified by the Japan Modern Pentathlon Association. December 2024)

"Speed Sprint," to be held this time, is a competition conducted on an OCR70m course, which is a discipline of modern pentathlon. Since OCR70m is usually competed only as one discipline of modern pentathlon, this will be the first time a standalone OCR70m competition is held in Japan.
