Hotel Resol Ueno (7-2-9 Ueno, Taito-ku, Tokyo), a tourist hotel under the 'Resol Hotels' brand operated by Resol Co., Ltd. (Mobara, Chiba; President: Naoto Sano), will hold a special exhibition of works by artist Aki Iwakawa at its lobby art gallery, 'Resol Gallery Ueno,' from June 1 (Mon) to June 30 (Tue), 2026.

As part of its commitment to creating a hotel rooted in the Ueno area—where art and traditional downtown culture harmonize—Hotel Resol Ueno has been utilizing its 'Resol Gallery Ueno' since 2024 to foster encounters between travelers and emerging artists who represent the future of culture. The gallery has previously showcased a diverse range of genres, including oil paintings and prints, featuring artists ranging from long-established professionals to up-and-coming talents. It serves as a space where tourists can easily engage with art, and it is open to the general public as well as hotel guests.

For this 15th exhibition, the featured artist is Aki Iwakawa, a graduate of the Joshibi University of Art and Design. Iwakawa engages in diverse creative activities, including solo exhibitions, live painting, and window art for restaurants. Her work, centered on the theme of 'prayer,' uses acrylic paints to depict motifs such as constellations, owls, and night landscapes. This exhibition will feature a total of seven pieces, including new works created specifically for this show. Through works that express the duality of the night—its 'glamour' and 'quietude'—visitors are invited to enjoy the art through their own unique sensibilities.
