Rental 819 Launches New "Mamo Ride Compensation" Option to Address Touring Concerns, Offering Half Deductible for Low-Speed Falls Plus Injury and Personal Effects Support

KIZUKI Rental Service Co., Ltd., which operates the rental bike service "Rental 819," began offering its new optional service "Mamo Ride Compensation" on April 1, 2026, aimed at reducing anxieties for rental bike users. This service reduces the deductible by half for low-speed falls (known as "tachigoke") during non-riding incidents. Additionally, the service bundles domestic travel accident insurance provided by Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Co., Ltd. This insurance covers injuries and damages to personal effects incurred during touring, subject to conditions. Specific benefits include: Death and Permanent Disability Insurance: 2 million JPY; Hospitalization Insurance: 3,000 JPY/day; Outpatient Treatment Insurance: 2,000 JPY/day; Personal Effects Damage Insurance: 100,000 JPY. The "tachigoke" coverage is applicable once per rental period. The domestic travel accident insurance applies to Japanese license holders using the rental service within Japan. Corporate entity rentals are not eligible for the domestic travel accident insurance. The service is available for rentals within Japan, for durations of 15 days or less, and only to those who have subscribed to vehicle compensation. The fee for "Mamo Ride Compensation" varies depending on the vehicle class.
