Rental of Nikken Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Yoshiyuki Saito) has launched rental operations for 'Starlink Business' in collaboration with NTT Docomo Business Co., Ltd. (hereinafter 'NTT Docomo Business').

Under this scheme, Rental of Nikken provides the antenna equipment, NTT Docomo provides the service contract, and NTT Docomo Business acts as the sales agent, enabling the rapid and flexible provision of communication environments.

■ Background

In recent years, with the advancement of digital transformation (DX) and the increasing importance of disaster preparedness, securing a stable communication environment has become essential for corporate activities. In particular, communication needs are growing in areas where traditional infrastructure construction is difficult, such as mountainous regions, remote islands, and disaster sites.

■ Service Overview

This is a satellite broadband internet service utilizing the low-earth orbit satellite 'Starlink'.

Satellites positioned in low-earth orbit (LEO) at an altitude of approximately 550km enable high-speed, low-latency communication compared to traditional geostationary satellites. Furthermore, as it does not depend on ground infrastructure like optical fiber lines, it is expected to be used in a wide range of fields, including mountainous areas with poor communication environments and backup lines during disasters. Additionally, it can be used simply by installing the antenna and power source, allowing for rapid deployment without the need for construction work.
