Remixpoint Inc. (Securities Code: 3825, Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Yoshihiko Takahashi) has decided at its Board of Directors meeting to acquire four additional grid-scale energy storage sites and is currently in discussions to finalize the sales contracts.
Under its medium-term management plan, the company aims to develop 32 high-voltage grid-scale energy storage sites by the fiscal year ending March 2029. Furthermore, it plans to hold more than 20 storage sites, including seven joint development projects currently underway with Japan Storage Battery Co., Ltd. With this latest acquisition, the company expects to hold a total of 11 storage sites.
Remixpoint will continue to promote the development of grid-scale energy storage sites, aiming to contribute to the realization of sustainable energy infrastructure by stabilizing Japan's power supply and demand and promoting the effective use of renewable energy.
Overview of the Grid-Scale Energy Storage Sites to be Acquired:
The overview of the grid-scale energy storage sites scheduled for acquisition is as follows. Three of the sites are expected to begin receiving power (grid interconnection) by around the summer of 2026, after which they will be acquired. For the remaining one site, the company will lead the process from land acquisition and business feasibility simulation to system design, construction, operation, and maintenance, with power reception expected to begin around November 2026.
