Establishment of the "General Incorporated Association for the Development of Family ADR/ODR Mediators," Involving Lawyers, University Professors, and Private Organizations; Hironori Kobayashi Appointed as Secretary General

We are pleased to announce that Hironori Kobayashi, Representative Director of Relife Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "the Company"), has joined the "General Incorporated Association for the Development of Family ADR/ODR Mediators," established in March 2026 through a collaboration between lawyers, university professors, and private organizations, as its Secretary General.

This organization is a council aimed at promoting family ADR/ODR (Alternative Dispute Resolution/Online Dispute Resolution) to enable amicable and efficient divorces, as well as making policy recommendations regarding the development and registration system for professional mediators who will serve in these roles.

◆ About the General Incorporated Association for the Development of Family ADR/ODR Mediators

・Background of Establishment From April 2026, a joint custody system will be introduced, marking the start of a new framework where parents cooperate to decide on important matters for their children even after divorce. Meanwhile, issues such as unpaid child support, high poverty rates in single-parent households, and the prolonged nature of mediation have been highlighted.

Furthermore, it is often noted that in Japan, mediation procedures—which are frequently conducted in separate rooms—make dialogue difficult, often hindering the establishment of a cooperative relationship after divorce. Given this situation, there is a demand for the qualitative and quantitative expansion of alternative dispute resolution (ADR/ODR) procedures.

・Purpose of the Organization The organization aims to promote family ADR/ODR, which supports amicable and efficient divorces, on a uniform national scale, and to make policy recommendations regarding the construction of a training and registration system for professional mediators.

Through collaboration with lawyers, university professors, and private organizations, he will promote the design of the mediator training system, as well as public relations and policy advocacy.
