Rehab for JAPAN Releases New 'Rehab Cloud' Feature Supporting Nutrition Assessment Add-on from Evaluation to LIFE Submission

Rehab for JAPAN, operator of the evidence-based care software 'Rehab Cloud,' has launched a new feature for the 'Nutrition Assessment Add-on.'

This feature automates approximately 80% of the 70 required assessment items, providing end-to-end support for monthly weight management, the creation of explanatory materials for users and families, and data submission to LIFE (Scientific Nursing Care Information System).

By streamlining joint efforts among dietitians, nursing staff, caregivers, and social workers, the feature supports care facilities in obtaining the Nutrition Assessment Add-on.

## Background
As people age, they become prone to reduced food intake, leading to a high risk of malnutrition. Over 50% of those requiring support and over 70% of those requiring long-term care are said to be either malnourished or at risk. Early identification of nutritional status is critical for supporting independence.

Established in the 2021 nursing care remuneration revision, the 'Nutrition Assessment Add-on' is awarded when dietitians collaborate with multiple professions to evaluate and submit data to LIFE. However, as of 2023, the attainment rate remains at only 2.1%.

Key barriers include the difficulty in staff allocation and inter-professional coordination, as well as the immense administrative burden of recording and submitting data for all users.
