ReGACY and Sapporo City Launch Call for Applications for Deep Tech Startup Support Program in Bio and Medical Fields

ReGACY Innovation Group Inc. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Koichi Naruse; hereinafter: ReGACY), in collaboration with Sapporo City, has launched a call for applications for the "Sapporo Deeptech Bridge Program 2026," a program to support deep tech (R&D-oriented) startup companies, primarily in the bio and medical fields, located in Sapporo City.

This marks the third year of startup creation support efforts by Sapporo City and ReGACY. Under this program, selected companies will receive hands-on support, in addition to up to 1 million JPY (tax included) per company for proof-of-concept and collaboration expenses.

What is the "Sapporo Deeptech Bridge Program 2026"?

This program is a hands-on support initiative designed to help R&D-oriented startups in Sapporo City, particularly in the bio and medical fields, overcome the hurdle of "initial collaboration and proof-of-concept." It provides comprehensive support, from organizing business hypotheses to matching with potential collaborators, executing and verifying proof-of-concept, and connecting to the next growth phase.

Application Overview

Eligibility: Corporations headquartered in Sapporo City that meet all of the following requirements:

Field: Deep tech domain (with a focus on health, medical, and bio fields).

Stage: Seed (technology verification/hypothesis building phase), Early (market introduction/initial proof-of-concept).

Number of companies to be selected: Approximately 2 companies *At least one company will be selected from the priority fields (health, medical, and bio fields).

Main Support Contents:

Support for organizing collaboration hypotheses and strategic design

Support for matching and consensus building with potential collaborators

Support for proof-of-concept execution and verification

Up to 1 million JPY (tax included) per company for proof-of-concept and collaboration expenses

Application Period:

May 13 (Wednesday) to June 3 (Wednesday), 2026

Support Period:

June 2026 to end of March 2027

Background of the Program

Sapporo City has designated "health, welfare, and medical care" as a priority area for industrial promotion and is strengthening support for the social implementation of university-originated R&D startups.

ReGACY has been collaborating with Sapporo City since fiscal year 2024, providing support for discovering research seeds, commercialization, and hands-on support for startups. This program combines hands-on support with the provision of proof-of-concept and collaboration expenses, thereby more effectively boosting startup growth.
