Currently, due to changes in market conditions, securing distribution channels for some of Joetsu City's delicious rice has become a challenge. Farmers wish for "as many people as possible to eat the rice they have diligently grown." Therefore, an "emergency price revision" will be implemented to support farmers.

A relief project for rice that has lost its market. The "Emergency Price Revision" launches the Joetsu City farmer support project.

Joetsu City is located in the southwestern part of Niigata Prefecture and is known as a heavy snowfall region. Blessed with pure meltwater from the Myoko mountain range, rice cultivation has been thriving here since ancient times. The Company believes it is important for people nationwide to experience the "delicious rice" produced in the city, which is rich in mountain nutrients, and has been promoting the "Joetsu City Rice Project" since 2023.

Amidst this, the "Reiwa Rice Disturbance" that occurred in the summer of 2024 shocked both rice farmers and consumers. Rice disappeared from the market, and prices soared significantly. However, recently, due to price fluctuations and changes in consumption, the amount of rice that cannot be distributed to the market has increased, resulting in a large amount of unsold inventory, despite the quality and taste being the same as in previous years.

"It's most painful to grow it with all my heart and not be able to deliver it." To help alleviate the suffering of such rice farmers, we planned this farmer support project. This time, an "emergency price revision" will be implemented to save the rice farmers.
