Wings for Life World Run 2026

Red Bull Japan Co., Ltd. supports the "Wings for Life World Run," the world's largest simultaneously held running event organized by the Wings for Life Foundation, with the aim of funding research for spinal cord injury treatment.

All entry fees for this event will be donated in full to research funds for spinal cord injury treatment.

Furthermore, as official Japanese ambassadors, Tomoka Igari of Kamen Joshi, an idol active in a wheelchair due to a spinal cord injury, Mako Shibuya, a wheelchair YouTuber, and Norihiro Akahoshi, a former professional baseball player and baseball commentator who experienced a spinal cord injury, will join.

The Hakone Ekiden three-time consecutive champion Aoyama Gakuin University Track and Field Club Long Distance Block (Ekiden Team), which is also gaining attention for its partnership with Red Bull, has also decided to participate.

\A unique global running event/

"Wings for Life World Run" is different from typical running events; not only do runners worldwide start simultaneously, but there is no finish line. 30 minutes after the start, a chase car, called the Catcher Car, starts from the starting point and pursues the participants. When a participant is overtaken by the Catcher Car, which gradually increases its speed, their race ends.

There are three types of "Wings for Life World Run": "Flagship Run" where a real Catcher Car chases participants, "App Run" where participants run freely on their own course using a smartphone app, and "App Run Event" where App Run participants gather and run together. *In the App Run, a virtual Catcher Car chases participants.

Since its first holding in 2014, over 1.87 million people from 191 countries and regions have participated, cumulatively donating over 60.53 million Euros (approximately 9.9 billion yen) to research funds. In 2025 alone, a total of 310,719 people from 170 countries and 191 nationalities participated, with 3,676 participants in Japan (700 of whom were in Tokyo), recording a total fundraising amount of 8.6 million Euros (approximately 1.4 billion yen).

Running with everyone doubles the fun of training and the excitement on the day. Not only can you encourage each other to reach your goals, but you can also feel the joy of connecting with runners worldwide. We encourage you to join this opportunity!

"Wings for Life World Run 2026" will start simultaneously worldwide on May 10th (Sunday) at 8:00 PM Japan time.
