NPO Red Box Japan has commenced providing menstrual products to the student organization 'Hokudai Period Support' at Hokkaido University, through the Human Ecology Laboratory (Smile Lab) of the Graduate School of Health Sciences, Hokkaido University.

'Hokudai Period Support' is a project that conducts menstrual support and awareness activities within Hokkaido University, based on the concept of 'Eliminating 'just a little patience.' Aiming for a Hokudai where students can comfortably spend time even during menstruation.'

From April to July 2026, free distribution of menstrual products will be carried out in the women's restrooms of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Hokkaido University. Additionally, participation in the Hokudai Festival (Medical Festival) is planned for June 2026, where efforts will be made to promote understanding of menstruation and create opportunities for dialogue.

Red Box Japan promotes the creation of an environment where everyone can learn and live with peace of mind, through the provision of menstrual products to schools and educational institutions nationwide.

Moving forward, we will continue to collaborate with student-led activities, aiming to build social infrastructure where young generations can live authentically.

NPO Red Box Japan

NPO Red Box Japan was established in 2019 as the Japanese branch of 'The Red Box Project,' a charity originating in the UK. Viewing menstruation and other unique challenges faced by women not as 'individual problems' but as 'social infrastructure issues,' we work in collaboration with schools, corporations, local governments, and educational institutions to create environments where women can learn, work, and continue to thrive in society with peace of mind.
