Rebase Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, CEO: Umi Sato) announces that it has moved its head office to the Omotesando area on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, and commenced operations at the new office on the same day.
■ Background and Concept of the Office Relocation: "Weaving Connections"
Through the rental space matching platform "instabase" and the community event service "TOIRO," Rebase has supported places where people gather and activities are born. Beyond these efforts, our goal is to increase the number of "beginnings of things" in society.
And today, Rebase celebrates its 12th anniversary. In order to create even greater value beyond our accumulated efforts, we are taking a step into our next growth phase. As a first step, we have updated our "workspace," which is the base of our activities.
This office is designed as a place that embodies our vision, "Where It Starts / The beginning of things". It will be a base where internal and external encounters and dialogues trigger new challenges.
The design concept of the new office is "Weaving Connections - Nurturing relationships and bonds".
Rebase has grown through many encounters and support. In the early days, we didn't have an office, moved from cafe to cafe, and eventually operated in rented spaces; today's Rebase exists beyond those steps. That is why we created a place that is not just an office relocation, but a starting point where new connections continue to be born. Through hosting events and creating touchpoints with communities, we will create opportunities for diverse people to interact, connecting people with people, and ideas with ideas. Based on this thought, the spatial design incorporates mechanisms that naturally facilitate communication as a starting point.
- engage: A structure where a sense of unity is naturally born
- enquire: Margins and pathways that make it easy to casually speak out
- encounter: An open space where internal and external elements intersect
We aimed for an environment where small "beginnings" continue to be born in everyday life.
■ Future Outlook
We will utilize this office as an open place not only internally but also externally. We will nurture a cycle where diverse people, such as companies and communities, interact, people and ideas connect, leading to new value and challenges. And starting from this place, we will deliver more "beginnings of things" to society.
The background of this relocation and the story behind the decision-making are introduced in detail in an interview article with CEO Sato.
Why did we decide to change our environment now? And what kind of "beginnings" are we trying to create from this place? Please take a look.
We will continue to create opportunities for more "beginnings of things" from this place.
