In Spring 2026, the project "Re:753 (Ri-Shichi-Go-San)" will launch, aiming to deliver blessings to children and mothers in single-mother households who were unable to celebrate Shichi-Go-San for various reasons, with the cooperation of the community and society.

As a kickoff event for this project, a public symposium "Re:753 Talk Show ~Mothers' Voices Decide the Future.~" will be held on July 18 (Sat) at Torikai Hachimangu Shrine in Imagawa, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City, with talent Suzanne as a guest.

The "Re" in the project name signifies "Retry," "Reunion," "Respect," and "Restyle (re-editing into a new style)."

It's a day not only to celebrate a child's growth but also to deliver "Thank you" to the mothers who have raised their children this far.

And it's a day to celebrate parents and children together with the entire community, not just within the family.

The project "Re:753" re-edits the traditional Japanese culture of Shichi-Go-San to fit modern times and connects it to the future as a new culture of celebration. The project is calling for support from citizens, companies, and organizations.

Details are available on the project's official website (https://re753.com/), so please check it out.

Message from Shingo Sadaue, Representative of the Re:753 Executive Committee

Reason why I, the representative of Ace Studio, wanted to do a Shichi-Go-San project for single mothers.

At Ace Studio, we photograph many families every year, which helps to liven up the shrines and allows us to make a living.

On the other hand, there are many single mothers around me.

They wake up early, prepare breakfast for their children, and without a moment's rest after sending them off, they finish laundry and head to work.

In the evening, they have to prepare dinner, so shortened work hours are the norm. Since not all Japanese workplaces are friendly to single mothers, sometimes they have to leave work early to care for their child when they get a fever.

Naturally, they have to cancel work, which can lead to friction with their colleagues.

On weekends and during summer vacation, their children are home, making it difficult to work, and every night they worry about next month's living expenses.

There are countless situations where these mothers have to give up on "Shichi-Go-San," a major life event in their beloved children's childhood, due to financial reasons or lack of time.

However, the children themselves are mostly unaware of the existence of the life event called Shichi-Go-San.

So, in reality, the ones who suffer the most are the mothers who regret not being able to give it to their beloved children.

We came up with this project thinking, "How can we do something about this painful and sad feeling?"

By providing free hair and makeup, dressing, and photography, even if only for a moment, they can forget about a sick Monday morning, the malicious glances from colleagues, and worries about future expenses, and get dressed up in their best kimonos.

We want to take a photo with their most beloved child, capturing their brightest smiles.

We want them to spend a day, even if it's just one day, fully smiling in an extraordinary experience.

Years later, when the child looks at their Shichi-Go-San photo again,

"Mom, you look so cute!"

If they can remember that day like that.

That would be a moment where the mother feels it was worth it to try so hard in parenting, to not give up, and to be alive.

We wanted to create that moment for them.
