Background: Why 'AI Partner' Now? Japan's AI Utilization Lags Behind Global Standards

According to Randstad's survey*¹, while Japanese Gen Z uses AI for problem-solving more than older generations, Japan shows the most significant delay compared to other surveyed countries (see figure below). Regarding perceptions of AI's role, 58% globally view it positively, whereas only 42% do so in Japan—the lowest level among surveyed nations. Furthermore, although more than half of workers believe AI skills will strengthen their future careers, only 13% of workers reported being offered AI training opportunities.

These results suggest that delays in implementing AI tools at a business level and a lack of practical training are major challenges for Japanese companies. There is a strong demand for companies to strengthen their investment in AI tool adoption and utilization education.
