Randstad Japan announced on May 13 the release of the Japanese edition of The 2025 Coaching Report: Organizational Growth Through Coaching for All Employees. The report was developed by Randstad in collaboration with the International Coaching Federation (ICF), based on in-depth interviews with companies that have achieved strong results through coaching. It summarizes insights on corporate philosophies, implementation methods, operational best practices, impact on organizational readiness for change, talent needs, and key factors for maximizing outcomes. The report notes that as the labor market undergoes major change and companies prioritize acquiring specialized skills and retaining talent, career coaching is gaining attention as a powerful approach to improving employee mindsets and energizing organizations. Coaching has traditionally been limited to executives and next-generation leadership candidates. However, while about two-thirds of working adults say career coaching would support their professional growth, only 12% actually use it. The report finds that expanding access to all employees can have a meaningful impact on skill acquisition and productivity. Companies that have introduced career coaching broadly reported a net promoter score (NPS) of 89%, far above the roughly 60% average for the company’s other learning and development initiatives. The report also shows long-term benefits for both organizations and talent, including improved performance, higher job satisfaction, stronger adaptability to organizational change, and enhanced leadership skills. The report features four company case studies. Sensiba introduced tiered coaching for all customer-facing roles in a remote environment, dramatically improving promotion readiness and work-life satisfaction. SAP offers unlimited coaching sessions to all employees through more than 600 internal coaches, using an intelligent matching system to improve goal achievement and retention. A major financial and insurance group opened coaching to all employees, shifting from a hierarchy-focused organization to a skills-based one while reducing turnover and significantly improving engagement. Salesforce developed its own career coaching program using internal coaching expertise, strengthening employees’ sense of belonging and supporting internal mobility and career transitions. The report is available for free download from Randstad’s website. Readers can also apply for an online coaching demonstration tailored to Japanese companies, provided by Japanese staff from Randstad RiseSmart.
