"Ganso Motsunabe Rakutenchi" has reached its 50th anniversary in 2026 as a motsunabe specialty restaurant!
On April 25, a management policy presentation was held to commemorate the 50th anniversary.
We will not give up on our challenge to convey motsunabe, a food culture originating in Hakata, to the world.
Hisashi Mizutani (pictured left below), who found motsunabe delicious and wanted to make it his life's work, founded Motsunabe Senmonten Rakutenchi in Fukuoka City in May 1976. (pictured right below)
At that time, 70% of customers were local and 30% were tourists, but as media coverage increased, orders for "motsunabe sets" poured in from all over the country.
Sales expanded 8-fold in 10 years after starting to hire employees.
While being a restaurant, it plays a part in Fukuoka's tourism industry, with 300,000 inbound customers visiting annually.
That's why, with the desire for our customers to feel more of Hakata, we obtained official recognition from the Hakata Gion Yamakasa Promotion Association and decided to produce and install this "Hakata Gion Yamakasa."
We have set a vision to provide inspiration and happiness to people worldwide through food culture, aiming for 10 billion yen in sales by 2033.
