Ofuro Café Karin-no-Yu, a hot spring facility within the agricultural resort THE FARM operated by The Farm Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Katori City, Chiba Prefecture; Representative Director: Yasuaki Takeda), will host the Easter event "HAPPY EASTER" on Saturday, April 4th, and Sunday, April 5th. The event offers a seasonal experience through a facility-wide scavenger hunt called "Find Vege-Tabe-kun" and a workshop using egg-shaped capsules. At 16:00, an Aufguss (sauna steam) session will be held in the mixed-gender sauna, allowing families to enjoy their time in their own way—children at the workshop and adults in the sauna.
Background of the Project
Easter, which marks the arrival of spring, is a holiday where children can feel close to the season through motifs like rabbits and eggs. Karin-no-Yu is hosting "HAPPY EASTER" as a project to help families create lasting memories while experiencing the unique joys of this season within the facility.
This project is designed to lead children from a "searching and finding" experience to a "creating" experience. By taking what they have found and turning it into something with their own hands, children can enjoy the seasonal holiday as a participatory experience.
Furthermore, to ensure adults can also enjoy a comfortable stay with saunas and hot springs, we have created a flow that allows each family member to choose how they spend their time during the same period. A key feature of this project is that while parents and children are in the same place, children can be immersed in play while adults can relax and enjoy their own time.
Event Details
The centerpiece of the event is the facility-wide scavenger hunt, "Find Vege-Tabe-kun." After receiving a participation sheet at the front desk, participants search for "Vege-Tabe-kun" characters hidden throughout the facility to collect letters and complete a phrase. Those who show the completed phrase to the staff will receive an egg-shaped capsule filled with treats.
Because it can be done while walking around the facility, it is easy for children to participate as if they are playing, and it encourages conversation between parents and children. Participants can enjoy their time in the facility while engaging with Easter motifs like rabbits and eggs.
Additionally, using the egg-shaped capsules obtained from the scavenger hunt, a workshop will be held in the connecting corridor starting at 16:00. Participants can use ribbons, masking tape, pens, and other materials to decorate them freely and enjoy creating their very own Easter eggs.
The highlight of this project is that it goes beyond just "finding" and allows participants to "finish what they found with their own hands." We designed this so that the discovery within the facility leads to a creative experience, making it a more memorable spring memory for children.
