THE FARM (Headquarters: Katori City, Chiba Prefecture; Representative Director: Yasuaki Takeda), a farm resort facility, is launching a limited accommodation plan titled "Katori Jingu Shikinen Jinko-sai Special Stay Plan: Two Days of Prayer and Harvest." This plan is designed for guests to experience the local festival held on April 15 (Wed) and 16 (Thu), 2026, in Katori City, Chiba Prefecture.
This festival is a spring ritual centered at Katori Jingu Shrine, extending its reach to the waterfront of the Tone River and the historic streets of Sawara.
In 2026, the Year of the Horse, the "Shikinen Taisai/Shikinen Jinko-sai"—the grandest festival held only once every 12 years—will take place over two days, bringing a special atmosphere that symbolizes spring in Katori to the entire region.
Furthermore, the historic "Koedo Sawara" district, featuring traditional earthen-walled merchant houses along the Ono River, remains in Katori City. During the festival, the sight of the procession moving through these historic streets creates a uniquely Katori landscape.
At THE FARM, located about 25 minutes by car from Sawara, we have designed a stay that combines festival viewing and town exploration with hot springs, dining, and nature. We propose a seamless journey of "Watching (the festival) → Walking (Sawara) → Refreshing (hot springs) → Tasting (dining)."
This initiative serves as a model for stay-based tourism, moving beyond mere "viewing" of cultural assets to creating extended stays that encourage regional travel and local consumption. We are working with the community to create a travel flow that allows guests to deeply experience the charm of Katori while avoiding peak congestion.
