COMPASS Corporation (Headquarters: Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Jun Sato) is pleased to announce that its learning e-portal + AI-powered educational material "Qubena" has been adopted as part of the curriculum in all municipal elementary and junior high schools in Tagajo City, Miyagi Prefecture, with approximately 5,000 students beginning use across all 10 schools from March 2026.

Tagajo City has formulated the "Tagajo City Smart School ~ New Era Education Paved by ICT Development and DX ~" school ICT concept plan, promoting the development of a learning environment to foster students' ability to learn independently and solve problems. A key policy in this plan is to advance and individualize "personalized learning" tailored to each student's learning progress and proficiency, utilizing advanced technologies such as AI. As part of this initiative, to ensure "personalized learning" for all students in the city, the learning e-portal + AI-powered educational material "Qubena" has been adopted by all 10 municipal elementary and junior high schools, with approximately 5,000 students from 1st grade elementary to 3rd grade junior high school beginning use in March 2026.

During the adoption process, Qubena's AI, which analyzes students' answer tendencies and proposes effective repetitive learning, was highly evaluated for its potential to simultaneously achieve "reliable academic improvement" and "learning efficiency." Furthermore, the city aims to use Qubena to streamline the acquisition of basic knowledge and skills, thereby freeing up time for inquiry-based learning and creative activities (such as PBL).

Comment from Yoshinori Ichioka, Superintendent of Tagajo City Board of Education

Our city aims to "guarantee learning" for everyone, leaving no one behind. Qubena's AI instantly analyzes each student's proficiency, making it possible to present optimal challenges. Even if a student encounters difficulties, the AI identifies the cause and enables re-learning, allowing children to progress in their learning proactively while gaining a solid sense of "I understood" and "I did it."

The time saved through learning efficiency will be dedicated to "inquiry-based learning" where students discover problems themselves and collaborate with others to solve them, and "creative activities." We will continue to support all children in Tagajo City to freely utilize ICT as an everyday partner and design their own learning.

COMPASS will continue to strive to contribute to the further spread of ICT in public education as a leading company that delivers "personalized learning" to all children without leaving anyone behind, through the provision of Qubena.
