Qkamura Shikano Island, located in Higashi-ku, Fukuoka City, will conduct a 'Family Support Day' from July 1 to July 17, 2026. This period covers the Hakata Gion Yamakasa festival, which takes place from July 1 to 15. During this time, the accommodation fee for children of elementary school age and younger will be free.

### Hakata Gion Yamakasa and Taiko Machiwari

Hakata Gion Yamakasa is a traditional Shinto ritual said to have begun in 1241. It is operated by groups known as 'Nagare,' which are said to have their origins in the 'Taiko Machiwari' (urban planning) implemented by Toyotomi Hideyoshi in 1587.
