Kyukamura Minami-Izu, a resort hotel located at the southernmost tip of the Izu Peninsula (Shizuoka Prefecture), will operate a daily 'Hydrangea Bus' starting June 1, 2026. This service will transport staying guests to Shimoda Park, the venue for the Shimoda Hydrangea Festival.
Shimoda Park boasts the largest number of hydrangea plants in Japan, with 150,000 plants and 3 million blooms spread across an area equivalent to 5.5 Tokyo Domes. The park is situated on the site of a Sengoku-period castle and offers panoramic views of the city.
Service & Event Details: - Hydrangea Bus: Daily from June 1 to June 30, departing hotel at 10:15 AM (shuttle to park only). Booking available at check-in. - Kurofune Buffet: From May 17 to July 11, the 'Kurofune Omotenashi Fair' celebrates local history and seafood. The buffet features steaks, 'Nokke-don' (seafood bowls), and dishes inspired by the hospitality shown to Commodore Perry's fleet in 1854. - Rates: From 17,500 yen per person (tax incl.) for one night with two meals (based on 2-person occupancy on weekdays).
