Quantum Flowers & Foods (QFF), headquartered in Mito City, Ibaraki Prefecture, and led by CEO Norio Kikuchi, will participate in "SusHi Tech Tokyo 2026," Asia's largest innovation conference, held at Tokyo Big Sight from April 27 to 29, 2026. QFF will present its proprietary "Neutron Beam Speedy Breeding®" technology, a non-GMO method for rapid variety and functional improvement of plants, microorganisms, and cells. The company aims to demonstrate its potential applications in food, agriculture, bio-manufacturing, and environment/energy fields, and to recruit co-creation partners for a sustainable future. SusHi Tech Tokyo is a global event focused on "creating sustainable new value," bringing together diverse players including startups, investors, large corporations, government bodies, universities, research institutions, and small and medium-sized enterprises. This marks the fourth edition of the event, which continues to grow annually. QFF's technology, "Neutron Beam Speedy Breeding®," induces mutations in plants, microorganisms, and cells using neutron beams, enabling rapid acquisition of new traits without genetic modification. This technology is expected to be widely utilized across various industries such as food, agriculture, fermentation, materials, and environmental sectors. In response to increasing needs for robust and sustainable biological functions amidst climate change, resource constraints, food supply issues, and environmental impact reduction, QFF is promoting industrial implementation through the improvement of varieties and strains using this technology. Through this exhibition, QFF seeks to expand its network with potential domestic and international partners and explore new co-creation opportunities. The exhibition will feature technical panels explaining the principles, features, and differences from conventional methods of Neutron Beam Speedy Breeding®, as well as displays of its applications in agriculture/food, bio-manufacturing, and environment/energy. QFF was established in July 2018 and its business includes plant/microorganism improvement using Neutron Beam Speedy Breeding®, next-generation variety/bio-material development using AI/genome analysis, and technology application to environmental/circular industries.
