Dotcon+ is a next-generation infrastructure technology featuring water-permeable, storage, and infiltration capabilities, developed under the concept: 'Absorb the Rain. Stop the Floods.'

This award recognizes its innovation not just as a paving material, but as a 'social issue-solving infrastructure' that achieves:

Dotcon+ was initially entered in the 'Urban Design' category. However, during the Red Dot Award assessment process, it was re-evaluated and deemed to have 'innovation that exceeds the framework of conventional urban infrastructure,' leading to its transition to the 'Innovative Design' category and final award. This confirms its evaluation as an 'infrastructure technology that changes urban water circulation itself,' rather than mere landscape design.

Professor Yasuhiro Koda of the Department of Civil Engineering at Nihon University's College of Engineering—an authority on reinforced concrete structures and durability design—has been appointed as a technical advisor. Through joint research based at Nihon University's Koriyama Campus, technical validations necessary for domestic and international deployment are underway, including structural testing, durability evaluation, long-term monitoring of water permeability, load testing, and verification of public infrastructure adaptability.
