<What This Project Aims to Achieve>

Connecting an environment where active women can continue their challenges to the future.

The Women Leaders Support Fund ~A Grain of Wheat~ began in 2021 with the desire to "put more women in decision-making positions." Established through the will of donor Kiyoko Ishikawa, it has since been nurtured with the support of many, including Chizuko Ueno.

In Japan, the proportion of women in decision-making positions in politics, economics, and other fields remains low. To change this situation, simply adjusting systems is not enough. We need an environment where more people take action from the ground up and can continue their challenges.

The Women Leaders Support Fund supports women working to solve gender issues by providing both financial assistance and networks, fostering a cycle where one person's challenge leads to the next change.

Your donation will nurture future female leaders.

Over the past five years, we have supported 31 female leaders challenging gender issues in various fields such as politics, healthcare, education, local communities, IT, culture, and SRHR.

We have supported not only their operational funds but also study sessions, mentorship programs, networking opportunities, and cross-disciplinary networks – an "environment where they can continue" without feeling isolated and can connect to their next actions. As a result, initiatives born from the field are gradually beginning to move society.

We have continued our activities for five years with your support.

In our sixth year, we have decided to launch a crowdfunding campaign to strengthen the support programs that are characteristic of this fund, such as study sessions, mentorship programs, and networking events.

Even if there are individuals willing to take on challenges, if the places for mutual support and learning disappear, it becomes difficult to connect to the next challenge. We want to ensure this cycle is passed on to the next generation. We humbly ask for your support.
