The Fukushima Future Fund was established in 2014 through donations from Fukushima-based entrepreneurs and companies aiming to contribute to the region, with the goal of supporting NPOs that help create a Fukushima where everyone can live vibrantly 30 years from now. Fourteen years after the Great East Japan Earthquake, the effects of the nuclear disaster remain strong in Fukushima Prefecture, and there are still areas requiring long-term support. Meanwhile, as reconstruction steadily progresses, latent issues such as aging and declining birthrates are becoming more prominent, and the environment surrounding local residents is changing rapidly. At the same time, financial support for reconstruction is gradually withdrawing.

To date, the fund has implemented grant programs to support NPOs, consultant training courses, and human resource development programs such as the Fukushima Shiko Juku and NPO Practical Management Introductory Course.

From fiscal year 2025, the grant program has been renewed to support activities that contribute to enhancing the appeal and regional revitalization of Fukushima City, aiming for an increase in exchange population and settlement.
