Prox Industries, Inc. (hereinafter 'Prox Industries') is pleased to announce its selection for the 'Physical AI Development Support Program by AWS Japan' provided by Amazon Web Services Japan G.K. (hereinafter 'AWS Japan'). Through this selection, the company will promote the construction of a Real2Sim2Real VLA (Vision-Language-Action) learning pipeline applicable to various environments, tasks, and hardware, aiming to streamline the process of applying VLA to specific use cases. Background: In recent years, the advancement of robot foundation models, including VLA, has greatly expanded the possibilities for robot control that integrates language, vision, and action. However, current VLAs tend to be dependent on the environments, tasks, and hardware assumed during training, and often fail to perform sufficiently in out-of-distribution (OOD) domains. Furthermore, absorbing such diverse conditional differences with a single model remains difficult even at the forefront of current research, often requiring fine-tuning for specific tasks in practical operations. To deploy Physical AI into the real world, it is crucial to build cycles of learning, evaluation, and improvement for individual use cases with high reproducibility and efficiency. Program Details: Prox Industries will leverage its strengths in simulation and manipulation technologies to build a Real2Sim2Real VLA learning pipeline applicable to various conditions. We will standardize the cycle of collecting demo data from real machines, reflecting it in simulation environments (NVIDIA Omniverse), generating synthetic data, fine-tuning VLA, and verifying on real machines. By doing so, we aim to streamline the development and improvement processes for applying VLA to specific industrial use cases and build a more practical foundation for Physical AI adoption. About the Program: This is a support program provided by AWS Japan for companies and organizations with legal entities or bases in Japan that develop robot foundation models, including VLA, on AWS. It supports the construction of development pipelines from data collection and preprocessing to model training, simulation, and deployment to real environments, aiming to promote the use of AI in robotics. Selected companies receive technical support from Physical AI specialists, AWS credits to cover part of the development costs, community formation for robotics and generative AI, and Go-to-Market support. The total scale of the program is up to 6 million USD. About Prox Industries: Prox Industries is a startup from the University of Tokyo's Matsuo Lab, with the mission of 'implementing physical intelligence from Japan.' We lead multiple Physical AI projects, mainly for domestic enterprise companies, by integrating AI and robotics. We tackle advanced technical challenges, including Sim2Real and Real2Sim, utilizing various real machines such as humanoids, quadruped robots, and mobile manipulators, as well as simulation environments centered on NVIDIA Omniverse.
