Pro-Ship Receives Medal with Dark Blue Ribbon for Corporate Hometown Tax Donation to Saga City

Pro-Ship Incorporated announced that it has received the Medal with Dark Blue Ribbon in recognition of its donation activities to Saga City, Saga Prefecture, through Japan’s corporate hometown tax donation program. The award is granted to individuals and corporations that donate private funds for the public good. The presentation ceremony was held at Pro-Ship’s headquarters on May 12, 2026, where Saga City presented the certificate to President and Representative Director Fumihito Suzuki. The Medal with Dark Blue Ribbon is an honorary award granted by the Japanese government to individuals and corporations that donate private assets for public benefit. Pro-Ship has contributed to local communities and promoted sustainable urban development through corporate hometown tax donations to Saga City. These highly public-minded activities were recognized, leading to the company’s third receipt of the medal. The latest donation was made to express gratitude to the local government that supported Pro-Ship’s expansion into Saga City, while also supporting the further development of local culture after typhoon damage and contributing to the realization of a sustainable society. The donation is being used for the “Balloon City Saga Promotion Project” and the “Sustainable Decarbonization and Resource-Circulating City Development Project.” Saga City is known as a “balloon city” that hosts the Saga International Balloon Fiesta every autumn, one of Asia’s largest international hot air balloon events. More than 100 balloons fill the sky, attracting over 800,000 visitors and helping revitalize the region. Saga City’s waste treatment plant has also introduced Japan’s first CCU plant, which separates and captures CO2 from exhaust gas generated during waste incineration, advancing initiatives toward a decarbonized society through commercial use of recovered CO2.
