Future Outlook

Chinese Cuisine Ryokan Kikusuitei will continue to develop experiential plans that leverage the seasonal nature and unique charm of the region, not limited to the "Shaved Ice Featuring Natural Water from Okuchichibu." We will provide unique stay experiences in a rich natural environment, such as nature exploration and nature experiences in spring, BBQ and stargazing in summer, autumn leaves and seasonal delicacies in autumn, and plans to enjoy the lake, moon, and stars in winter.

Chinese Cuisine Ryokan Kikusuitei

"Chinese Cuisine Ryokan Kikusuitei," nestled on the shores of Tama Lake, is a lakeside inn celebrating its 35th anniversary since its opening on September 28, 1990. Its concept is "Close, Relaxing, My 'Reward' Time." Its appeal lies in its convenience, approximately 50 minutes from the city center, and the tranquility unique to the lakeside.

Its name is derived from a line by the Tang dynasty poet Yu Liangshi, "Jushui Yue Zai Shou" (The moon is in hand when scooping water). Just as this poem depicts the beautiful scene of the moon reflected in water scooped in one's palm, the adjacent Tama Lake is certified as one of Japan's 100 Famous Moons, and the scenery woven by the moon floating on the lake, the water surface illuminated by moonlight, and the distant city lights is like a painting.

The architecture was designed by Yoshiro Ikehara, a leading figure in Japanese architecture. It features a Western-style silhouette with a triangular roof and delicate steel frames, harmonizing with nature while exuding an impressive presence.

All rooms offer lake views, providing a panoramic vista of the tranquil Tama Lake. On clear days, Mount Fuji can also be seen in the distance, allowing guests to spend a relaxing time with the ever-changing scenery. The facility includes "Restaurant Tengaiten," a spacious stone-built public bath "Sayama no Chayu," and a sauna, where guests can enjoy the seasonal nature and lakeside scenery.
