Sunshine City Prince Hotel (Location: 3-1-5 Higashi-Ikebukuro, Toshima-ku, Tokyo; General Manager: Mayumi Oda) will hold the 6th installment of the Toshima-ku / Ikebukuro Literary Master Series, "I Can't Sleep Tonight: Midsummer Night's Ghost Stories" 2026, as a seasonal summer experience event at the COLLABORATION RESTAURANT "IKEPRI CANVAS" located on the B1 floor of the hotel, on Saturday, August 15, 2026. As an annual summer event unique to our hotel, where popular rakugoka (comic storytellers) and kodanshi (professional storytellers) read aloud masterpieces of literary figures associated with Toshima-ku and Ikebukuro, where the hotel is located, with a realistic tone, it has been held every year since 2021. The program features two "ghost stories": Sanyutei Encho's "Shinkei Kasanegafuchi: The Murder of Soetsu" and Lafcadio Hearn's "The Broken Promise." They will be told with great realism, delivering a chilling, immersive experience that will send shivers down your spine on a midsummer night. In addition, for dinner at this event, we have prepared a Western-style course menu using some "Edo Tokyo Vegetables" that will let you feel the summer.
