The park features diverse habitats ranging from scenic landscapes like "Miharashi Hill" to woodlands, sand dunes, and spring water areas. Within these environments, numerous rare plant and animal species—listed on the Ministry of the Environment and Ibaraki Prefecture's Red Lists—reside. Rare Plants and Animals at Hitachi Seaside Park in Early Summer
Hana-hatazao (Critically Endangered, Ministry of Environment/Ibaraki Prefecture) Kawara-saiko (Near Threatened, Ibaraki Prefecture) Oze-tombo (Near Threatened, Ibaraki Prefecture)
From May to July, rare plant species such as Ooumegasa-so, Hana-hatazao, and Kawara-saiko—listed on the Red Lists of the Ministry of the Environment and Ibaraki Prefecture—bloom one after another. Creatures like the Oze-tombo dragonfly, visible only during this season, also appear within the park. Just as the baton passes from Nemophila to summer blooms, this is the most vibrant season for rare flora and fauna in the park. We warmly invite you to visit and experience this dynamic period.
