"Fukuoka Creature Survey Team ~Uminonakamichi Seaside Park Edition~" to be held!

Uminonakamichi Seaside Park's "Environmental Symbiosis Forest" is further promoting strengthened collaboration with various stakeholders towards achieving nature positivity, taking advantage of its certification as a "Nature Coexistence Site" (September 2025).

As part of this effort, in cooperation with the Fukuoka City Environmental Bureau, we will hold the event "Fukuoka Creature Survey Team ~Uminonakamichi Seaside Park Edition~" utilizing the "Biome" app, which is used to photograph and record familiar living creatures.

We invite you to cover the event on the day, where 30 parent-child pairs, recruited in advance, will photograph plants and insects in the forest and learn about creatures in a fun way through the app and expert commentary.

Target: 30 elementary school students and their guardians (pre-recruitment)

◆ What is the Environmental Symbiosis Forest (nickname: Mirai no Mori)?

It is an area where a forest is nurtured over many years through collaboration between local residents and the park, with the concept of "forest creation from scratch." It is affectionately called "Mirai no Mori" (Forest of the Future). As the forest grows, the number of creatures increases year by year, and 238 species have been confirmed to date. In September 2025, it was certified as a "Nature Coexistence Site."

Uminonakamichi Seaside Park

Uminonakamichi Seaside Park is located on "Uminonakamichi," a sandbar surrounded by Hakata Bay and Genkai Sea. It is a vast national park with an area of approximately 350 hectares, extending about 6 kilometers east-to-west. Visitors can enjoy seasonal flowers within the park, and in the "Animal Forest," they can interact with cute animals such as squirrel monkeys, capybaras, and kangaroos. Additionally, on March 15, 2022, a long-stay recreation hub for experiencing "Relaxation, Learning, and Play" was born in the "Hikari to Kaze no Hiroba" (Light and Wind Plaza).
