Night Cherry Blossom Lighting "Michinoku Hana Akari" Held at Michinoku Park

Michinoku Lakeside National Government Park in Kawasaki, Miyagi Prefecture, is holding its annual night cherry blossom lighting event "Michinoku Hana Akari" until April 19, 2026. Around 100 Somei Yoshino trees surrounding the "Sai no Hiroba" area are illuminated with LED lights, including new moving light effects. The venue features projection mapping, light-up ring chairs, and various photo spots. While the cherry blossoms are starting to fall, the lighting and other spring flowers like tulips (85,000 bulbs) and canola flowers (130,000 plants) are reaching their peak. On the final day, April 19, admission to the park will be free as part of a greening promotion initiative.
