Artifacts excavated from the Ando-ji Site

The Yamanashi Prefectural Archaeological Museum (Kofu City, Yamanashi Prefecture; Director: Ryuzaburo Takahashi) will hold its 2026 Spring Special Exhibition, "Commemorating the Designation of National Important Cultural Properties: The Ando-ji Site in Koshu City—A Large Jomon Period Village."

This exhibition serves to unveil the pottery excavated from the Ando-ji Site in Koshu City, which was newly designated as a National Important Cultural Property in fiscal year 2025. The exhibition will feature the newly designated pottery alongside a wide variety of other excavated materials, providing an accessible introduction to the characteristics and appeal of the site. We look forward to welcoming many visitors.

3. Content

The Ando-ji Site in Koshu City is known as one of the most significant Jomon settlement sites in Yamanashi Prefecture. Its value has been re-evaluated in recent years, leading to the designation of its excavated pottery as a National Important Cultural Property in fiscal year 2025. This exhibition showcases these artifacts and other materials to highlight the significance of the site.

Free (Note: A separate admission fee of 220 yen for adults and university students is required for the permanent exhibition.)

Every Monday (Open on May 4), and May 7 (Thu).
