Yamagata Prefecture will host a marriage, relocation, and tourism tour titled 'Discover an Unknown Future: Exciting Yamagata Trip' in two regions, targeting single individuals from within and outside the prefecture who are interested in marriage, relocation, or tourism in Yamagata.

This tour takes place in Yamagata, the only Japanese destination selected by the prestigious U.S. media outlet National Geographic for its 'Best of the World 2026' list, which has recently seen rising interest both domestically and internationally. The itinerary is designed to allow participants to enjoy region-specific experiences unique to each season while fostering enjoyable interactions among attendees.

Additionally, each course will feature a talk event by Yuka Miura, a former comedian and returnee migrant, who will share real-life insights into living in the vibrant Yamagata region.

1. Dates

Inland Course: September 18 (Fri) – 19 (Sat), Reiwa 8

Shonai Course: October 31 (Sat) – November 1 (Sun), Reiwa 8

2. Eligibility

Single individuals aged 18–39 interested in marriage or relocation to Yamagata Prefecture

(Male participants must reside in Yamagata Prefecture; female participants may be from inside or outside the prefecture)

3. Participation Fee

5,000 JPY (includes accommodation, transportation during the tour, admission fees, and meals)

For female participants from outside the prefecture, registering for the matchmaking system 'Ai-Navi Yamagata' (paid service) at the time of tour participation will result in a full refund of the participation fee (5,000 JPY), making it effectively free.

'Ai-Navi Yamagata' is a secure matchmaking system operated by the public institution 'Yamagata Happy Support Center,' composed of Yamagata Prefecture, all municipalities within the prefecture, and business organizations.
