[Saitama Prefecture] A new way to enjoy the waterfront begins at Sakura Lake (Osagami Retarding Basin)

Saitama Prefecture is promoting the 'Next River Regeneration/Waterfront Venture Challenge' at Sakura Lake (Osagami Retarding Basin: Motoarakawa River, Koshigaya City). This initiative is positioned under the 'Saitama SDGs' priority theme of 'Protecting and Nurturing Saitama's Rich Water and Greenery,' and involves collaboration between private businesses, the prefecture, and the city from the planning stage to create a pleasant waterfront space and foster regional vitality. At Sakura Lake, Aeon Mall Co., Ltd., Saitama Prefecture, and Koshigaya City have collaborated to develop the area under the concept of a 'waterfront hub that creates the Koshigaya Standard.' New spaces have been born, such as 'Lakeside Dining' for enjoying food on a deck over the water, and 'Lakeside Park' for activities and takeout food. With the completion of each zone, an opening ceremony will be held to mark the start of this new waterfront utilization.
