[June is Food Education Month]
The government designates June every year as "Food Education Month" in its Basic Plan for Food Education, and the national government, local governments, and related organizations work together to implement intensive food education promotion activities and promote understanding among the public.
[Holding of Food Education Panel Exhibition]
As part of its Food Education Month initiatives, the prefecture held a "Food Education Panel Exhibition" from June 2 (Tue) to June 3 (Wed), Reiwa 8 (2026), at a special exhibition space on the first floor of the prefectural government building. The exhibition introduced panels on thinking about food and local food education activities, attracting approximately 200 visitors.
Through panels such as "What is Food Education? Why is it Important?" and "Are You Expressing Gratitude?", we called out to the residents of the prefecture to encourage them to reflect on their daily eating habits.
In addition, panels on the Food Loss Reduction Ordinance and the 2nd Hokkaido Food Loss Reduction Promotion Plan, formulated in March Reiwa 8 (2026), were also exhibited, encouraging residents to be conscious of reducing food loss.
